Backpack Offering - The Missions Committee will be collecting unused backpacks, rulers, wide-ruled spiral notebooks, folders, wide-ruled notebook filler paper, pencils, pencil boxes, erasers, crayons, scissors, and binders for teachers to use in their classrooms. Gift cards for Office Depot, Target, or Wal-Mart will be accepted also. Please look for the large box in the Narthex, in which you can deposit supplies. We're also happy to do the shopping for you and welcome gifts by cash or check, which you can put in the offering plate. Please note "backpack offering" in the memo line of your check. Please submit all donations by Sunday, July 29.
Christmas in July - The Deacons' annual food drive to benefit local food pantries begins the last weekend of June. To contribute, choose ornaments from the Christmas Cactus in the Narthex, purchase the named items, and bring them to the church before the end of July. Donations of money are welcome also. Please designate your gifts for Christmas in July, but make out checks to the church.
Receptionist Volunteers Needed - Volunteers are needed to cover the front desk from 9:00 AM - Noon, Monday through Friday, especially during the summer. There are no special requirements except for a smile to welcome visitors. Occasionally, you may be asked to assist with some easy office tasks. Rainbow Children's Choir - All young singers age pre-K through 5th grade are invited to join the Rainbow Children's Choir! The choir rehearses every Sunday morning from 9:50 - 10:20 AM in the CE Building. The choir sings on the 4th Sunday of the month at the 10:30 AM service and performs during the Christmas season. The 2018 Per Capita payment is $42.00 per member (not per household). Please considering contributing this amount by February 7. GVPC has to pay this amount for every member, whether or not you contribute. Paying in full by February 15 gives the church a 10% discount on the total amount due.
The Stewardship Committee is still accepting your annual pledges to the Operating Fund. Please consider making a pledge, so we can better plan the church's financial affairs.
