Local Missions

GVPC supports several missions and ministries including, but not limited to the following:

Adopt a Park, Trail, & Road.  Meets the 4th Saturday of each month at 8AM.

Amazing Grace spreads the Gospel to impoverished individuals living in Las Vegas by distributing Bibles, clothing, diapers, and bus tokens and through Wednesday night and Sunday morning worship and meal services.

The Backpack Drive collects new backpacks and school supplies, to aid students in need.

The Coat Drive helps provide children with warm outerwear.

Las Vegas Rescue Mission is a faith based ministry providing overnight shelter and an onsite food pantry to offer a meal to anyone in need. The Mission offers aid with a Recovery Program, teaches work ethics and job skills, and holds daily Bible study.

U.S. Vets is a program which serves a meal twice per month and collects donations of clothing and household items.

Stephen Fund is special fund used for charitable purposes within the GVPC church community.

Disaster Relief Assistance offers monthly aid for communities involved in ongoing issues, such as hungry children, civil unrest, and natural disasters. Funds are sent to Presbyterian Church Disaster (PDA).

Christmas in July is an annual fundraising drive, serving Friends in the Desert and the Henderson Presbyterian Church Food Bank. Members  of the congregation donate food and hygiene products.

Friends in the Desert serves a hot meal 6 days a week and GVPC provides one hot meal, hygiene kits, and new and used clothing every month.

Henderson Presbyterian Church Food Bank provides about 200 families a month with boxes of food.

Good Samaritan Fund confidentially provides limited and discretionary financial support for GVPC members who are undergoing financial challenges.

Do It Yourself (DIY) Messiah is an annual GVPC sponsored event which draws people from across the Las Vegas Valley and raises proceeds for the Henderson Food Bank.

Miscellaneous Funds are supported and made possible by the Gingerbread Fair Committee, Knit Wits and, GVPC Deacons. These groups organize fundraising events for special GVPC projects, local charities and GVPC members.
